Lead by Emily Gillis, Emily Gillis Design is a design studio specialising in residential interiors that are timeless, intimate and refined.

Raised in a creative family, Emily furthered her education at Monash University completing a Bachelor of Design, which propelled her into a career in Graphic Design and Art Direction, finally arriving at Interior Design.

Her working career has taken her from Melbourne to Sydney, and onto New York, providing her with international knowledge and strong relationships with an extensive range of suppliers and artisans abroad.

Through careful curation of texture, materials and light, Emily builds upon her refined approach to ensure that each project is layered with the unique narratives of each client. Her ethos ensures that the architectural histories of the homes and environments she works on are strengthened and celebrated in the final outcome - She is not one to erase the past, rather allows it to inform and gently guide her designs.

Emily works in close collaboration with her clients and builders, ensuring a team that is unified and motivated, allowing the process from concept design to construction to be transparent and enjoyable.

Published in Vogue, Belle, House & Garden, Est Living and Local Project and currently working on projects around Australia, Emily is located in Melbourne’s inner north with her young family and German Pointer, Henry.

  • Support through smaller interventions such as furniture procurement and property styling, to building FF&E schedules detailing materials, lighting, furniture.

  • Most impactful is a full scope interior design service, thats builds a complete creative solution through concept design, onto detailed design documentation and finally project management throughout the construction phase.
